About Me
I am an Oracle Certified Professional DBA and Oracle GoldenGate Implementation Specialist, with proven skills in performance tuning, database design, software development, system architecture, system integration, system administration, data migration, data replication, trace analysis and fault diagnosis, backup & recovery, plus server side procedures and database server configuration.
I currently build and support mission critical systems in the financial sector.
I have created this Website to share my experience of building and configuring a clustered environment, supporting the largest global FX trading system on the complete Oracle 11g technology stack.
I hit a number of issues installing and configuring the latest production versions of Oracle software, this became a challenge as there was very little information available on the Web or within the Oracle documentation to successfully resolve the problems.
My aim is therefore, to help fellow Oracle DBAs overcome some of the “gotchas” when configuring Oracle 11g RAC, ASM, OEL, Streams and Active Data Guard.
I have since written the first ever book on implementing Oracle GoldenGate, which was published in March 2011. Based on real-life experience, it includes tips and tricks and ofcourse the gotchas!
